In the last hour of this holiday, I’d like to take some time to get sappy and give thanks for all the blessings in my life.
To my family and friends—thank you for being in my life. There are few words that could ever express how grateful I am to those who push me, support me, laugh with me, cry with me, act silly with me, and especially to those who love me despite all my shortcomings. I will probably never be able to say just how much you all mean to me, but I’ll try to show you my appreciation in every way that I can.
I am also so incredibly grateful that in these hard economic times, I have a roof over my head, food in my belly and work that keeps me busy & feeling useful. Thank you especially to those that encourage me when I’m feeling negative & worried in this current economic climate—it helps to laugh at life’s woes and that’s what I’ll keep trying to do.
Lastly, thank you to all the new people in my life. It’s been so great meeting you, sharing stories with you and I hope to have many more memories with you in the near future.
Muchas gracias. Arigato. Merci beaucoup. Grazie. Salamat po.
I am so thankful for my life.
Happy Hour last night with the co-workers. It’s been a while since we’ve all been out together… and despite the fact that there were some lame-oids who left early or didn’t show up, I still had fun with Tania, Gina & Maribel. It’s also the first time in a long while that I hung out with just girls, which I have to say was surprisingly pleasant.
All my life I’ve been that one weird girl that doesn’t really get along with other girls and would rather play video games and go roller blading with the boys. But lately, I must admit it’s been rather nice to feel more of a camaraderie with women. Maybe I’m just getting older and finally becoming less awkward in social situations. Or maybe people in New York like weird people like me.
FYI, if you’re interested in the place we went to it’s rather nice. It’s called Catch 22 (points just for the name) and apparently used to be a different bar not to long ago that went under. Great atmosphere and lots of seating—definitely lounge status. Bartender was kind of lame, but it’s a good stop off before heading to dinner somewhere else.
Flight to LA in 4 hours and 49 minutes.
I. Can’t. Wait.
1.5 days & counting until I fly to lovely smoggy Los Angeles [not that New York is any better].
I can’t wait to go home to see my family & friends. It’ll be really great to have late night talks with my sisters, joy rides in the early hours of the morning with Abs, lunch with friends, dinner with the family, playing with my nephews… hearing all the hubbub in the mornings at the Suarez-Aquino household.
I’m so excited I can barely get anything done at the office. I keep chatting with friends and walking around if only to get away from my computer.
Ah, home home home. There’s nothing like it.
I ♥ my fam bam.

There’s something about the typical fat kid in his floatie device that makes me really love this image. The image was created for the Totoro Forest Project—a charity auction that brought together 200 artists to save the Sayama forest [aka Totoro] which was the inspiration for Miyazaki’s Totoro.
I also really like his rendition of Whale Boy:

Happy 21st Birthday to one of my dearest friends.
Lara’s one of the few people in my life who could possibly put up with me in such a teeny-tiny space for long periods of time.
She’s small but feisty and is always there to tell me when I’m being taken advantage of & lends an ear whenever I need to whine and complain about my day. Her addiction to all things cute & tasty makes me love her that much more.
Thanks for being my roomie & I hope you have the BEST birthday ever.
I wanted to say Happy Birthday in Vietnamese, but I found so many different variations that I decided to play it safe and go with French. ♥
I have the best family in the world. I know everyone says that, but really I don’t think I could be more proud to be able to define myself as Lorie’s and Mark’s sister, Christopher’s sister-in-law, Abs’ and Franz’s Ate, Tita Lyn’s and Tito Benz’s niece, Tita Enoy’s goddaughter, James and Logan’s Tita, and Ojie’s and Liz’s daughter.
I won’t go into anymore detail, because there are no words to describe how much I love them… but I just needed to share.
